A domain name is a unique text designation that identifies a Web site (i.e. url.com). Domain names correspond to a numeric IP (Internet Protocol) address. Users enter a domain name in order to locate a particular site on the Internet. Each domain name must be unique and cannot exceed sixty-seven characters in length. Domain names are bought and registered for use. In an email address, the domain name is the text that follows the “@” sign. |
